Florilège honoured with One to Watch award in Asia

For the first time the award has been given to a restaurant that sits outside the main Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants list

In advance of the ceremony celebrating Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants at the end of February, Florilège in Tokyo, Japan has been honoured with the One to Watch award.

Florilège’s owner-chef Hiroyasu Kawate opened his 22-seat restaurant in 2009, serving modern French cuisine. “I am very flattered to be recognised by Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants,” he said. “The One to Watch award encourages our team to work harder and continue to push culinary boundaries to earn a position in the list of Asia’s 50 best restaurants.”

The One to Watch award, sponsored by Peroni Nastro Azzurro, recognises a restaurant that has the potential to break into the main list in the near future. In the previous three years since the list was introduced the winners have been chosen from within the list. Previous winners are JAAN in Singapore, Tenku Ryugin in Hong Kong and La Yeon in Seoul.

Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants will be announced in a ceremony in Bangkok on 29 February.
