Brian has worked in the Hospitality service industry for over twenty five years, commencing his career as a refrigeration technician and then completing a drafting engineers’ certificate, Freelance Journalism, AutoCAD and small business management before moving into sales and Design Consultancy.

Over the course of his career, he has designed and co-ordinated works on a number of projects including Clubs, Hotels, Aged Care Facilities, Cafes, Restaurants, Production Kitchens and Government Institutions.

Brian is an Professional Member of the internationally recognised Foodservice Consultants Society International (FCSI), which is the only world wide body of Design Professionals in the foodservice industry and is bound by its high standards for excellence. Furthermore, as of 1st January 2010 Brian will be sitting on the WWCPS board of the FCSI representing the Asia Pacific Division.

Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) and Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) are major factors in the design of any facility and these are key elements in any Food and Beverage design process today and Brian is fully aware and conversant with the requirements of these very important components.

Brian feels that creating sustainable foodservice and laundry operations is essential in todays world, where increasing power costs are impacting on the profitibility of operations. Brian and his company, Universal Foodservice Designs looks to create the laundries and kitchens of the future now.

Brian’s unique background allows him to offer to the Client a range of services including Facility Design, Spatial planning, Specification and Documentation of equipment, services co-ordination, delapidation reporting, compliance certification and Project Management.
