This seventh iteration of the popular K-12 kitchen equipment makeover initiative kicked off this February. Save Your Kitchen will provide free Traulsen and Hobart kitchen equipment to four winning sweepstake entrants. The Lacey Township School District is the first recipient of the new kitchen equipment prize package from the 2022 Save Your Kitchen campaign.
The Lacey Township School District is a comprehensive community public school district serving students in kindergarten through twelfth grade from Lacey Township, in Ocean County, New Jersey, along the state’s Jersey Shore and South Jersey regions. The district is made up of six schools with an enrollment of 4,026 students. In addition to its four schools that serve grades K-6, the two schools that will benefit most from the new products are the Lacey Township Middle School and the Lacey Township High School.
The school selected the One-Section Reach-In Refrigerator (RHT132WUT) from Traulsen which features 24 cubic feet of storage space, advanced technology like Traulsen’s StayClear™ Condenser coil and advanced Smart Control. Their Hobart prize selection is the EDGE13A Centerline™ by Hobart Slicer.
“What a great surprise to win these amazing products and it couldn’t come at a better time,” said Lacey Middle School Cafeteria Lead Jennifer Fischer. “Our existing slicer in the middle school just went down as did the refrigerator in our high school. This amazing windfall will allow us to put our new products where they are sorely needed.” The new slicer will be used in the middle school where deli sandwiches are the most requested menu item and the refrigerator will go to the high school.
“We offer a number of cold options for our students including sandwiches, salads, parfaits and smoothies which are favorites among our students. Both of the schools will benefit from these items to turn out meals that are delicious and nutritious and help us take the best care of our kids,” Fischer continued.
“We want to see students benefiting from our equipment in school kitchens and the 2022 Save Your Kitchen Campaign helps make that happen more often,” said Hailey Elting, business development manager and K-12 specialist at Traulsen. “Nutrition is becoming more important in our schools every year, but they don’t always have the right equipment or updated tools to deliver the most nutritious meals. This sweepstakes helps us provide these schools with new equipment and better food overall.”
The sweepstakes is open to K-12 nutrition professionals in the 50 states and Washington, D.C. Among the products offered in this year’s sweepstakes are Traulsen refrigerators, a freezer or a milk cooler plus a Centerline™ by Hobart slicer or mixer, or a Hobart food processor for all four sweepstakes, and a Hobart AM16 base dish machine for the July sweepstakes only. Different products may be available for specific sweepstakes.
