New Age Industrial is thrilled to announce the winners of its inaugural School Foodservice Regional Product Design Contest. The contest invited manufacturers’ representatives in the Eastern Half of the United States to collaborate with school nutrition directors, end-users, consultants, or dealer partners to identify unmet needs in school foodservice equipment and create innovative solutions.
Collaborative problem-solving leads to winning design
Contest participants submitted entries highlighting a specific school foodservice equipment need, explaining the problem it addressed, and showcasing their proposed solution through a simple sketch or line drawing. Nicole Moorhead, Child Nutrition Director of the MSD of Decatur Township, partnered with Stephanie Tragesser, Manufacturers’ Representative at Zink Foodservice Group, to create the winning design.

The winning design will be unveiled at New Age Industrial Booth 424 during the SNA Annual National Conference in Boston, MA, on July 15, 2024. This marks the first public unveiling of a brand-new school foodservice product, a testament to the creative power of collaboration in shaping the future of school meals.

Beyond witnessing the unveiling when doors open, attendees are invited to celebrate the innovative minds behind the winning design. Moorhead and Tragesser will be present to receive their well-deserved prizes, which include airfare, hotel accommodations, SNA Show badges, tickets to the Closing Party, and a manufactured version of their winning product design! Additionally, Tragesser will receive a $500 cash prize.
