Middleby Innovation Kitchen (MIK) in Madrid is now open. Where passion meets innovation, the MIK Madrid location gives Middleby European customers and partners the opportunity to experience a wide selection of the company’s brands and innovations in one facility.
The solutions highlighted in the 500-square-meter showroom feature more than 80 pieces of equipment from 30 worldwide brands. Showcased in seven fully functioning vignettes, customers are invited to not only spectate but to fully engage in live demonstrations.
The MIK Madrid is also a hands-on training facility with beautiful, functional meeting spaces and a dining area where guests will experience some of the best flavors in the world, prepared by our chefs.
A hub for European customers
“Our new MIK Madrid has been very well-received by the entire European region” Middleby Chief Operating Officer Steve Spittle said, “Similar to our location in Dallas, I am confident that this one-of-a-kind concept will quickly become a hub for our European customers and channel partners to see our brands in action and learn how our innovations can be a perfect fit in their commercial kitchen. We’re proud that most of our MIK visitors learn something new about Middleby and our brand capabilities.”
Chris Jones, group president of Middleby Worldwide-Europe, hails the MIK as a huge step forward in the Middleby European strategy.
“Our goal was to build a state-of-the-art facility in a European base,” Jones said. “We believe that Madrid is one of the key cities in the European market and the Spanish have a flair for food. The backbone of every Middleby Innovation Kitchen is deep culinary expertise – it is a big selling tool for us. This project represents a huge investment in the European market from Middleby.”
Vignettes include solutions for today’s operators including cooking, frying, beverage and ventless. The Middleby global brands on display include Josper, Lincat and TurboChef. The MIK Madrid is located just 15 minutes from the Madrid airport.
