Our expert panel assess the key drivers, impacts and challenges of the electrification of commercial kitchens in North America

Shot on the show floor of The NAFEM Show in Orlando, the panel discussion, supported by The Middleby Corporation, saw two leading foodservice professionals and a range of additional experts discuss the rate at which kitchens are becoming electrified, the sectors that are leading the way with this trend and the currently primary drivers behind this change.

Chaired by Michael Jones, editorial director of FCSI’s Foodservice Consultant, the panel saw leading consultants from FCSI The Americas, Kristin Sedej FCSI of S2O and Marcin Zmiejko FCSI of YoungCaruso join Rick Ranhotra, Sr. technical leader of U.S. Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI); Jim Krueger, chief, Air Force & U.S. Space Force Food & Beverage – U.S. Air Force; and Scott Heim, president of Middleby Ventless Cooking Solutions, for an extensive discussion about decarbonisation and its impact on people, projects and products in foodservice.
