In memoriam: Rosemary Osbourne MBE

FCSI UK & Ireland remembers long-standing member Rosemary Osbourne MBE (1946-2021), who passed away earlier this year

It is with great sadness that we at the FCSI UK & Ireland announce that Rosemary Osbourne passed away on 10 April 2021 after suffering a fall at her home.

Rosemary was a longstanding member of the Society and played an active role in its development and progress within the UK&I, EAME and Worldwide, serving on numerous committees and task forces. Rosemary became chair of both the UK&I and EAME, where she also participated on the Worldwide board of directors.

Rosemary was also a member, chair and participant in a number of our industry’s other organisations and trade bodies where she arranged dinners, meetings and fund-raising events, all with her ever-present enthusiasm.

Dedication and service

Rosemary’s dedication and service to the hospitality industry was recognised and acknowledged by the award of an MBE (Member of the British Empire) and Rosemary was particularly proud that this occurred in Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth’s Golden Jubilee year.

Rosemary’s funeral took place on the 7 May, but attendance was sadly restricted due to the Covid lockdown.

A donation will be made to Parkinson’s UK by the FCSI UK&I in remembrance of Rosemary.
