The company has scooped the prestigious German Design Award 2015 in the category covering industry, materials and health care in the annual event run by the country’s prestigious Rat für Formgebung (Design Council).
Hobart’s PREMAX FTPi warewasher was described as “groundbreaking in the German and international design landscape” by the committee of experts from economics, university teaching, science, and the design community who conducted the judging.
They based their view on criteria including functionality, safety and ease of operation, ecological and technical quality, visual appearance and overall concept.
Hobart UK Director – Warewashing, Dave Riley, said: “We are delighted to have been awarded this prize – and to be the very first warewashing manufacturer to achieve such a feat. It’s a tremendous honour, and shows the emphasis and long hours we put into developing our machines.
“Hobart is committed to manufacturing the best dishwashers in the world and with the PREMAX FTPi, we have succeeded in every respect. Its technology is future-orientated, its operating costs are the lowest in the market and its functional and attractive design perfectly combine form and function.”
Including world-first features, Hobart’s FTPi has been developed with the clear remit of redefining warewashing standards and is the direct result of years of research and development in conjunction with hospitality operators.
The award is the third this year for the PREMAX FTPi which has already scooped the IF Design Award by International Forum Design and the RedDot Design Award.
Hobart, which manufactures warewashing equipment at its base in Offenburg, Germany, will be presented with its latest design award in Frankfurt in February.
