The consultancy offers advice on financial and operational performance, catering strategy, option appraisals and feasibility studies, catering reviews, competitive tendering, quality monitoring, marketing, business development and design.
Stephen Merritt-Harrison has supported multi-site tenders, reviews of catering provision and option appraisals within a range of sectors (B&I, healthcare, education and not for profit), and has undertaken mystery shopper visits.
The consultancy abides by the FCSI Code of Best Practice, and is completely independent of any supplier, contractor or other body that might cause any potential conflict of interest.
After graduating from the University of Leicester, Stephen worked on a graduate volunteer programme for an international charity, specialising in student mentoring and support, during which he had responsibility for food preparation, events organisation and food safety. He has also had operational experience in retail catering and sales. Stephen joined Merritt-Harrison Catering Consultancy in 2017 and is a senior associate member of the Foodservice Consultants Society International.
