About Me

Harry Schildkraut, FCSI, Principal & Owner, with more than 40 years of food facility planning and design experience, is one of the most highly skilled and well-respected consultants in the food service design industry. Throughout his successful career, Harry has received numerous awards including the Outstanding Consultant of the Year from MAFSI Region 17, President’s Citation for Distinguished Service from FCSI, Spes Hominum Award from the National Sanitation Foundation, and the Young Lion of the Year from FES Magazine in 1988. Harry entered into the food service industry in 1969 as a consultant for Cini-Little International. Harry left the organization in 2003 to establish Schildkraut, Schroeder, Sedej & Associates along with current partner, Kristin Schmidt. After the firm dissolved in 2008, Harry and Kristin formed their current company, S2O Consultants, Inc.

Key projects have included all the kitchens, bars and pantries for the New Navy Pier in Chicago, the new Lucas Oil Stadium for the Indianapolis Colts – which was named the Sports Facility of the Year by Street and Smith’s Sports Business Journal, project of the month from FE&S Magazine for the new dining pavilion at The Ravinia Festival, renovations to the New Orleans Superdome after Hurricane Katrina, receiving the LEED Gold certification for work done on the HSBC North America Headquarters, and working on designing food service facilities for the first LEED-certified green major professional sports stadium in the U.S. – the new Nationals Ballpark in D.C.

Known for his extensive business background, Harry has delivered lectures for a number of organizations including the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions, American Hotel and Motel Association, Harold Washington College, and DuPage County Community College. He is also a professional member of the Foodservice Consultants Society International, National Fire Protection Association, and the Cornell Hotel Society.

Harry has done extensive pro-bono kitchen design work for Ronald McDonald House Charities in Chicago, the Salvation Army, and a number of churches and synagogues.
