Matthew Merritt-Harrison has project managed major multi-site tenders, reviews and option appraisals, and has developed a range of IT tools for financial modelling, evaluation and monitoring.
The consultancy abides by the FCSI Code of Best Practice, and is completely independent of any supplier, contractor or other body that might cause any potential conflict of interest.
Matthew Merritt-Harrison’s experience in the catering industry spans more than forty years. After graduating from the University of Surrey in Hotel and Catering Administration, he held senior management roles in both operations and business development for a number of major catering contractors. During this time, he set up a fine dining division in London for a multinational caterer. Since becoming an independent consultant in 1995, Matthew has managed an extensive range of consultancy projects throughout the UK and in Europe, encompassing catering, cleaning, retail and other soft FM services. He also gained an MSc in International Hospitality Design and Management Consultancy. Matthew is a professional member, past chair and treasurer of the FCSI (UK&I). He is a Fellow of the Institute of Hospitality and former chair of its audit committee. Matthew also holds membership of both the Hospital Caterers Association and the British Institute of Cleaning Science.
