Unox officially celebrated the grand opening of its first US manufacturing facility in Denver, North Carolina this week. The event gathered foodservice dealers, manufacturer’s representatives and Unox leadership for an immersive, full-day experience inside the company’s newest facility.
The $20m facility, which began production in late 2025, marks the next chapter in Unox’s long-term investment in the Charlotte region and a signal of what’s ahead as the company deepens its roots in North America.
Guests moved through a series of sessions designed to connect product performance to culinary science. Mario Cammarota, Unox’s chief research technology officer, led a deep-dive presentation on “The Science Behind Food,” exploring the physics, chemistry and engineering that shape how Unox ovens cook.
The day’s programming also featured:
- A live cooking demonstration showcasing Unox oven capabilities
- A guided tour of the manufacturing facility
- An official ribbon cutting ceremony marking the facility’s grand opening
- An evening dinner reception at the NASCAR Hall of Fame in Charlotte
“We’ve been building toward this moment in Charlotte for a long time,” said Derrick Richardson, Unox president of North America. “This facility is a milestone and a platform for everything that comes next. Bringing our partners here to experience that firsthand felt like exactly the right way to open this chapter.”
Unox group CEO Nicola Michelon attended he event alongside Richardson, underscoring the global significance of the facility launch.
“The U.S. facility is a key element of a global strategy bringing Unox closer to the customers we serve every day,” Michelon said. “We are building something that will serve the American foodservice industry for years to come.”
Unox has been growing its presence in the Charlotte area since 2017, building a team of culinary professionals, service specialists and sales experts across the region. The new facility formalizes that commitment, giving the company a domestic manufacturing footprint to match the scale of its North American operations.
With the facility now officially open, Unox is positioned to expand production capabilities, reduce lead times for US customers and bring on additional staff as demand grows. The Denver location’s proximity to major transportation corridors and access to a skilled regional workforce make it a strong foundation for that growth.
The North Carolina facility is also part of Unox’s broader global strategy, which includes the development of Unox City, the company’s state-of-the-art headquarters and innovation center in Padua, Italy.
