David Abi announced as president of CookTek

Abi will manage the day-to-day operations of the company including overseeing sales, marketing and product development

David Abi has been named president of CookTek, expanding his leadership role within Middleby. In his added role at CookTek, Abi will manage the day-to-day operations including overseeing sales, marketing and product development with, says a statement from Middleby, the “goal of growing market share” for the Dallas-based induction manufacturer.

In the meantime, Abi will continue his current role as president of Carter-Hoffmann, Doyon and Nu-Vu.

Sharing innovation

“While leading the three brands [Abi] successfully repositioned them as technology leaders within their industry areas of expertise while sharing innovation across other Middleby brands to enhance other products. He also reorganized the resources within the factories for more efficient production and better utilization of talent and labor,” said Tim FitzGerald, CEO of Middleby.

“As innovative solutions for delivery continue to be in demand, David will combine his experience from Carter-Hoffmann, a leader in warming innovation with CookTek a top provider of induction solutions. The companies previously shared synergies in the successful development of the PUC Delivery unit, utilizing Carter-Hoffmann warming and CookTek induction delivery bags.

“With these companies now under the same leadership, the integration of their technologies will continue and enhance Middleby delivery solutions for our customers.”

Abi began his Middleby career in 2011 in regional sales for Carter-Hoffmann and was promoted to VP of sales in 2015. He was promoted to president of the three brands in 2018.
