The long walk across Scotland for charity

Later this month FCSI members James Connolly and Duncan Hepburn will be walking across Scotland in aid of the charity The Brightest Star

The walk, from west to east, will start in Helensburgh on 14 April and the aim is to arrive in Dunbar on the evening of 22 April.

They will be joined by Anne Brunniche and Rebecca Hampson, fellow ramblers from the Northumbria Walking Group in the North East of England. The Brightest Star provides vital support to families who have experienced the loss of a child.

“I have spoken to numerous people across all of our industries in the past few weeks and it has shocked me greatly that there has been a significant amount of us who have suffered the tragic loss of a child or a sibling,” explains James. “In their most difficult hour of need The Brightest Star is on of the few safe havens of support for people in this situation and I would like to kindly ask you all to dig deep and make a small or large donation.”

James and Duncan invite anyone who would like to join them for a day’s walking or more to get in touch and they will provide their daily walking plan.
