Compass Group delivered organic revenue growth of 7.1% in Q3
The foodservice giant, which operates in over 25 countries, said its North America business saw a 7.5% boost, while the rest of the world delivered 6.4% revenue growth in the third quarter ended 30 June 2026. Net new business growth accelerated into the target range of 4%-5%, while client retention remained at 96%. Business and industry was its strongest-performing sector globally, generating double-digit organic growth and more than $2bn (£1.5bn) worth of new business.
Jollibee secures Best Fast-Food Fried Chicken in the US for third consecutive year
Jollibee has been named number one in the ranking of best fast food fried chicken in the US, by USA Today’s 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards, for the third year running. It was followed by Church’s Texas Chicken. Voted on by readers and editors, the USA Today 10Best is an online travel and lifestyle guide that provides recommendations and hosts widely popular “Readers’ Choice” awards.

Michelin-starred restaurateur faces jail for using ants as garnish
After the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety found reviews that diners had posted with images of sprinkled ants on their dishes, South Korean prosecutors sought a one-year jail term for the owner of a Michelin-starred restaurant. Under the country’s laws, the approved list includes grasshoppers, locusts and two-spotted crickets, among others, but not ants. The owner admitted to serving ants but argued that they were used in a “small part” of the restaurant’s 15-course menu and that diners could opt for non-ant toppings.
GLP-1 adoption grows as Australians rethink food choices
Australians using GLP-1 weight-loss medicines are becoming more selective and health-focused in what they consume, according to new research by EY. At least one in 10 Australians are taking GLP-1, 85% of which have become selective about what they eat and drink, while 78% are prioritizing higher-quality and more nutritious, high-protein food. Further, 44% of GLP-1 users said they are dining out less. Some 60% of GLP-1 users said their dietary changes had affected the eating habits of others in their household.

London Museum and Green & Fortune to open four major food and drink destinations in 2026
Four new distinct food and drink destinations will launch alongside the London Museum at its new Smithfield site on 28th November 2026. Green & Fortune will work in partnership with chef Robin Gill as food curator, collaborating with chef director Dan Rampat on the culinary direction across all four venues. The new openings include flagship restaurant, Clerks House at London Museum, Bartholomew’s bar, the Temperance Cocoa Rooms café and The Roost, an incubator space with a rotating residency of London’s up and coming talent.
Starhotels reports best economic results in group’s history
Starhotels Finanziaria’s board of directors has approved records of the best economic results in the Group’s history. With revenues of €340m, EBITDA of €108m and investments of over €64m, Starhotels confirms the solidity of its industrial model, based on profitable growth, disciplined capital allocation and a long-term vision. This growth was supported by the improvement in the operational performance of the entire portfolio, the expansion of international demand, the growth of the direct channel and the I am star loyalty program, and the enhancement of the investments made over recent financial years.
