The new FCSI Foodservice Consultant app for iPad devices will be ready for download from the Apple App store from Friday 5 September. Within days it will also be available on iPhone and then Android devices from Google Play very shortly after.

The app allows users to view the latest magazine content and also features a ‘find a member’ global search function so that FCSI members can be located via a direct search or found within the user’s immediate location.

New magazine issues updated on the app will automatically appear in the newsstand function on your device, while content can be shared with colleagues via email, Twitter and Facebook.

The app is free for Professional, Allied and Student FCSI members to download. There is also a separate ‘subscribe’ function for non-members to download the app annually for a small fee.

Log-in information for FCSI members

Once downloaded, to view the app on your device, FCSI members can simply sign in using a user name and password that will be circulated in an email from Jonathan Doughty FCSI, president of FCSI Worldwide, tomorrow, Friday 5th September.

“For me, the really exiting development with this new app is Professional and Allied members can showcase up to 10 of their projects/products on their profile pages,” says Jonathan Doughty. This function will be free of charge in the first year for Professional members.

“It’s a hugely exciting development for FCSI’s Foodservice Consultant portfolio,” says Dan Davey, managing director of Progressive Customer Publishing, who produce the magazine, website and app. “We see the app as a real game-changer for FCSI. It will allow members to be able to reach an even wider audience and demonstrate the superb and diverse range of work that they are doing for their clients. It also further demonstrates that FCSI are at the forefront of foodservice market communications”

Jonathan Doughty’s email tomorrow will also show members how they can update their projects/products with a simple click of a button. Further updates will follow once the app becomes available on iPhone and Android devices.
