FCSI The Americas 2020 Conference postponed

The 2020 Camp FCSI biennial conference, scheduled April 30-May 2 in Austin, Texas, will now take place August 24-26 2020, writes Eric Norman FCSI

So many changes have taken place over the past 3-4 days in regard to COVID-19 and recommendations/guidelines from governing authorities. The city of Austin has banned public gatherings of more than 50 people until May 1 and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has recommended that events with more than 50 attendees be canceled or postponed for the next eight weeks.

In light of all this new information, we have made the difficult decision to postpone the 2020 Camp FCSI biennial conference until August 24-26, 2020 at The Hyatt Lost Pines.

At this time, we recommend you not cancel your CAMP FCSI registration. Hopefully you will be able to join us when the event is rescheduled and your registration will simply be extended to the new dates. If you cannot attend during the new dates, we will happily cancel your registration and issue applicable refunds at that time.

You also do not need to cancel your reservation at the Hyatt Lost Pines if you booked in the FCSI room block as your current hotel room reservation will automatically be transferred to the new dates. If you have already canceled your reservation, you will need to rebook when the new block is opened.

Time to be leaders

We appreciate your patience throughout this process. The FCSI The Americas board, Conference Planning Committee, and staff are committed to hosting a fantastic event in 2020.

In the meantime, it’s time to be leaders in the industry. The next few months are going to be very tough for our clients. We encourage you to do whatever you can to help guide them through shutdowns, layoffs and the rebound.

We encourage you to SHAREon our Facebook or LinkedIn groups what you are doing locally and globally so others can learn from your expertise and better assist their clients and friends during this difficult time. SUPPORT your local restaurants and operators as best you can with ordering take out, curbside pickup or buying gift cards for future use.

Finally, INSPIRE those around you so they will be reassured that things will get better and we will make it through this pandemic. FCSI members are the best in the world and now is the time to show everyone what it means to be the best.
