FCSI EAME announces 2021 conference location

FCSI Europe, Middle East and Africa has revealed plans for the postponed conference, which will see delegates heading to Chantilly, France, next year

The conference, originally slated to take part this Autumn, has been rescheduled for April 2021 and will take place at the Hyatt Regency Chantilly, a short distance from Paris.

As FCSI EAME executive director Elonique Dalhuisen outlines, this is a venue with an interesting history and a lot of space, so the team can guarantee sufficient distance, should these requirements remain in society.

The organising team has started to consider the conference programme and other activities. “Beside the conference there are a lot of possibilities for the partner programme and also for the tours on Friday afternoon and the Gala Dinner,” says Dalhuisen. “The hotel is really great, with good restaurants a very big garden outside, great wellness facilities among other things.”

Sustainability and Covid-19

The programme will mirror that of the Rotterdam conference in 2018 and will feature key-note speakers and masterclasses. “The main theme of the conference is sustainability and, of course, we will discuss the impact of Covid for the world of food and hospitality,” explains Dalhuisen. “During our next board meeting at the end of September we will discuss the programme further, but we can promise excellent speakers.”

She says delegates can look forward to a top-quality venue, with excellent speakers and content, recognising that this is a tough time for the industry and, accordingly, the conference will be organised in prudent manner.

As to what Dalhuisen is most looking forward to, she is clear. “To meet all our FCSI friends and family, to share knowledge and to inspire in this difficult and strange time,” she concludes.
