Countdown to Chantilly

After twice being postponed, the FCSI EAME conference will finally take place later this spring and the theme is sustainability

Delegates looking forward to the next FCSI conference have had to be patient as successive Covid enforced delays have meant a long time waiting. The conference, originally slated to take place in Autumn 2020, then rescheduled for April 2021 will take place in Paris this spring.

But FCSI members can now look forward to getting together with friends and colleagues as the new date approaches. “We began preparing in 2019 for a conference in 2020. Because of Covid, we had to postpone it a few times and we deliberately chose a high-level location in the outskirts of Paris, where we have plenty of space both inside and out,” says FCSI executive director Elonique Dalhuisen. “These are challenging times for everyone in our industry. That is why we are extra excited to meet again in person.”

Sustainability at the centre

The organising team have chosen to name the conference #TACT2022, which stands for Together, Action, Change, Transformation. The main theme of the conference remains sustainability. “The theme was already fixed. Given the social importance and impact on the world of food and hospitality we did not change that,” says FCSI EAME chair Remko van der Graaff. “We promise excellent speakers, interesting masterclasses, roundtable conversations and not to forget amazing food & drinks.”

The confirmed conference programme promises a weekend of insightful and throughtprovoking sessions. Keynote speakers include:

  • Bruno ParmentierLecturer, consultant & author of books about Agriculture and World Hunger
  • Christine Schäfer, MSc BAResearcher and speakerGDI Gottlieb Duttweiler Institute
  • Benjamin CallejaCEO LIVITSpeaking about ‘Future’

The conference venue remains theHyatt Regency Chantilly, a short distance from Paris, the perfect location, according to Dalhuisen. “The location is fantastic. It is beautifully located and high quality service,” she says. “We are delighted with top keynote speakers and very interesting master classes. As members are used to, besides the conference program, we have a nice event program with delicious dinners and inspiring activities. More than ever the focus is on networking and being together.
