The show opened on Sunday 8 February and will run until Thursday 12 February. Over 1,000 international specialist Halal food brands and companies are in attendance for the second annual Halal World Food, showcasing halal products across the breadth of the food market, from energy drinks to gourmet and fine foods.

The World Food Security Summit took place on Monday. While talks for the rest of the week will come from the Halal Investment Conference, and the Food Franchising Forum will bring together investors, entrepreneurs, franchisees and franchisors.

A star attraction came from the Emirates International Salon Culinaire, as 1,300 professional chefs showcase their skills.

Uwe Micheel, Emirates Culinary Guild President said, “From what we’ve seen so far, we are looking forward to an exceptional competition for Gulfood’s historic 20th anniversary. It’s great to see the amazing growth of the Salon Culinaire, not only in quantity – we started in 1987 with 16 competitors – but also in quality.

“Today the show hosts some of the world’s best talent and it is also the perfect place for chefs to network and share knowledge.”
