Welbilt announces its new Garland Induction Instinct Series has been awarded a prestigious and much sought-after NRA Kitchen Innovation Award
The National Restaurant Association (NRA) has been running the Kitchen Innovation Awards for over a decade in conjunction with the annual NRA Show – taking place on 19-22 May 2018 at McCormick Place, Chicago, Illinois – providing industry professionals with an opportunity to see the very best equipment innovations from the year. Often dubbed ‘the International Foodservice Marketplace’, more than 45,000 key foodservice buyers will attend this year’s NRA Show and provides the perfect opportunity to showcase the hottest equipment innovations and technology.
Within the exhibition is a dedicated ‘Award Winners’ pavilion where the Kitchen Innovation Award winners will be displayed enabling key industry figures to see the best-in-class equipment within one area. This year the Garland Induction Instinct Series will take its place in the Award Winners Pavilion highlighting its innovative and premium quality as judged by a panel of industry experts.
To receive a Kitchen Innovation Award, the New Garland Induction Instinct Series demonstrated superior innovation, design and functionality and will take its place amongst the select few recipients of the Kitchen Innovation Awards in the esteemed Awards Pavilion.
Superior induction technology
Launched last year at Host Milan, the new Instinct series offers operators superior induction technology enabling state of the art cooking. With five table-top models in the series available in varying sizes, consisting of single and double Hob modules, along with a Wok and two Griddles, there is a model for any establishment requiring safe, compact and high quality table-top induction.
Boasting the first and only comprehensive control and monitoring system for induction thanks to the RTCSmp (Real-Time Temperature Control System multi-point) technology, the Instinct series allows fast heat up times, safe cooking and accurate temperatures by utilising the electronics within the modules to monitor the temperature of the induction coils and energy supply. This provides the operator with the ultimate in ‘real time’ control. In addition, the temperature can be controlled down to 1°C so precise temperatures can always be achieved ensuring any deviations are corrected with no delay. The patented technology also protects against ‘empty heating’ which detects if an empty pan has been left on the surface, ensuring a safe working environment, as well as minimising unnecessary usage of heat, and energy.
Simple and intuitive
Designed for simple and intuitive operation, the Instinct series features a new ‘Tip and Turn’ control system. These ingeniously simple and reliable controls respond to light pressure on the control knob to activate the appliance, whilst the ‘turn’ function sets the desired temperature level. The temperature can be held between 25°C to 100°C for versatile cooking, whilst consistent power transfer over the entire cooking period helps operators achieve perfect, evenly cooked food every time.
Not only does the Instinct series offer exceptional cooking functionality, it does so without generating excess heat in the working environment due to the direct heat transfer from the surface to the pan. With no wastage of heat, energy consumption costs can be reduced. With further dedication to improving the kitchen environment, the fan fitted within the models is virtually silent whilst still achieving outstanding cooling capacity so both heat and noise in the kitchen is minimised.
If spillages occur, food residues won’t burn and stick to the Ceran cook tops of both the Instinct Hobs and Wok models thanks to the cool surface surrounding the pan. Similarly, when food is placed directly onto the Instinct Griddle units, their specially developed high-quality protection material prevents the main plate becoming affected by continuous use. Innovatively designed and extremely hardwearing, the quality surface protection also allows for easier cleaning in between and at the end of service periods further reducing staff labour.
All models are available as single-phase variants so that any establishment, big or small anywhere in the world can benefit from the advanced induction cooking capabilities achievable with the new Instinct series.
