In Memoriam: Curt Benson of FWE

The "valued colleague and greatly appreciated friend" passed away suddenly on Friday 29 November

Food Warming Equipment Co. (FWE) has announced that Curt Benson, vice president of sales and marketing, passed away suddenly on Friday 29 November. Benson had been with the company since 1991.

“You will be grieved to learn that our business associate, Curt Benson passed away over the Holiday,” said the Crystal Lake, Illinois-headquartered company in a statement. “We have lost a dear friend and valued colleague.”

A greatly appreciated friend

Benson joined FWE in October 1991, rising to VP/sales & marketing manager for FWE. He was, says the company, “a greatly appreciated friend. He past suddenly at home with family while enjoying Thanksgiving, surrounded by loved ones. Curt had not suffered any known illness and passed suddenly.

“We are saddened and join Mr. Benson’s family in this great loss, he will be deeply missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife Linda, sons Max and Sam, daughter Courtney, as well as the rest of his family.”

Benson was a life-long resident of Crystal Lake, IL, and, says FWE, he “loved spending time with his family and friends, cooking the next best meal, visiting Jordan Lake, and watching sports, especially the Minnesota Vikings.”

Alison Cody executive director, MAFSI commented “It is with great sadness, that we announce the passing of longtime MAFSI member, Curt Benson. He will be dearly missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with Curt’s family, friends and colleagues.”

Visitation will be Saturday, December 7th from 4:00 pm until the time of the service at 7:30 pm. The location is Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave. (Rte. 176) Crystal Lake, IL 60014.
