Alto-Shaam, a recognised leader and innovator in the global foodservice equipment industry, has hired Jean van der Westhuizen as its new Culinary and Sales Manager for Alto-Shaam Middle East.
Tasked with developing and implementing Alto-Shaam’s regional sales plan, van der Westhuizen with also be creating strategies to manage and grow sales accounts by market segment and oversee the culinary kitchen in Dubai, including A Taste of Alto-Shaam live events, seminars and tradeshows.
“Jean has considerable experience in the hospitality and culinary industry, demonstrated by his work across South and North Africa, South Asia and over ten years in the Middle East. I welcome him to the team and look forward to working with him to grow our business in the region,” said Gabriel Estrella Talenti, Alto-Shaam director of sales MEA.
Prior to joining Alto-Shaam, van der Westhuizen was a corporate executive chef at Unilever Food Solutions where he was responsible for mentoring and supporting nine other chefs to achieve their Key Performance Indicators, with a proven track record of developing key accounts.
He will be present at The Restaurant Show in Dubai, 27-29 April. The show is one of the Middle East’s premier foodservice equipment and hospitality events. Members of Alto-Shaam’s Middle East sales team and employees will be available throughout the show to meet with customers and members of the media.
