Our guide to major industry events taking place around the world in 2019

While by no means a fully comprehensive list, the below represents a choice selection of the most established and largest shows in the foodservice and hospitality sector this year.

THE PROFESSIONAL KITCHEN SHOW

When: 22-23 January 2019
Where: NEC, Birmingham, UK
Why: With over 8,000 attendees, The Professional Kitchen Show is setting a new standard in industry events. The event is dedicated to the financial outcomes of its clients and serves the needs of the industry above all else. 67% of attendees are owners, directors, managers or chefs.

SIRHA

When: 26-30 January 2019
Where: Eurexpo, Lyon, France
Why: Attracting more than 200,000 attendees and approximately 3,000 exhibitors, Sirha boasts 12 sectors dedicated to food products, equipment and services for foodservice professionals. Sirha also hosts 24 competitions, including the International Catering Cup, Bocuse d’Or and Coupe du Monde de la Pâtisserie.

THE NAFEM SHOW

When: 7-9 February 2019
Where: Orange County Convention Center, Orlando, US
Why: The largest foodservice equipment and supplies show in North America opens its doors in Orlando, Florida in February. Attendance is expected to be in the 10,000+ range with more than 500 suppliers exhibiting. The FCSI The Americas 2019 Symposium also takes place in Orlando between 5-6 February. INTERNORGA

When: 15-19 March 2019
Where: Hamburg Messe, Hamburg, Germany
Why: An international trade fair for hotels, restaurants, caterers, bakeries and pastry shops, Internorga is one of Europe’s leading trade fairs for the foodservice and catering market. 1,200 exhibitors and more than 100,000 visitors will attend, making the trade fair a must-see event. It is the only officially approved gastronomy fair in Germany. Programme topics address commercial kitchens, interiors and F&B.

HOTELEX SHANGHAI 2019

When: 1-4 April 2019
Where: Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC), Shanghai, China
Why: A full-scale catering and foodservice exhibition, Hotelex Shanghai covers the entire hospitality and catering value chain. Visitors can find in-depth and comprehensive information here about the latest developments, trends, products and services in various fields.

HOFEX

When: 7-10 May 2019
Where: Hong Kong
Why: Now in its 18th edition, HOFEX brings a comprehensive selection of food and drinks, hospitality equipment and supplies products to Asia. Covering 67,000 sq m of exhibiting space the trade show will host 2,800 international exhibitors and 45,000 regional buyers.

NATIONAL RESTAURANT ASSOCIATION SHOW 2019

When: 18-21 May 2019
Where: McCormick Place, Chicago, US
Why: Exhibitors representing 900+ product categories, as well as hundreds of experts leading 70+ free education sessions and demonstrations will come together to provide visitors with the tools to manage through the difficulties and take advantage of the potential. This year’s show will see the Association host its centenary and 100 years in the business is certainly worth celebrating.

COMMERCIAL KITCHEN

When: 4-5 June 2019
Where: NEC, Birmingham, UK
Why: With more than 1,700 attendees in 2018, the organisers of the third edition of Commercial Kitchen are planning to deliver the show’s biggest one yet this summer.

FINE FOOD AUSTRALIA 2019

When: 9-12 September 2019
Where: ICC Sydney, Sydney, Australia
Why: Australia’s largest exhibition for the food and beverage industry, Fine Food Australia is an international event showcasing the latest innovations in food, beverages and equipment. In its 33rd year, the event is a showcase of the latest products and attracts over 20,000 trade buyers from various industries and more than 1,000 exhibiting companies from across the region.

HOSTMILANO

When: 18-22 October 2019
Where: Fieramilano, Milan, Italy
Why:
HostMilano is the world leading trade fair dedicated to the world of catering and hospitality. More than 2,000 exhibitors and close to 190,000 visitors will attend the five-day event. HostMilano, reaching its 41st edition, will also feature approximately 400 events, enriching participants’ experience with creativity and inspiration, knowledge exchange and networking.
