In memoriam: Georges Gaspar

Georges Gaspar, executive vice president of Halton Foodservice, has passed away following a long-term illness

Halton Group has announced the passing of Georges Gaspar, executive vice president of Halton Foodservice. Gaspar had served with the company for nearly 32 years.

“We are extremely sad to share the news of the passing of our dear colleague and friend, Georges Gaspar,” read a company statement, shared on LinkedIn on Monday, June 30. Gaspar passed away last week “following the rapid escalation of a long-time illness.”

Gaspar remarkable career spanned more than three decades, where he “guided the growth of Halton’s Foodservice business to the success it enjoys today.” Since joining the organization in September 1993, he enjoyed pivotal roles in, initially Portugal, where he joined in a business development capacity in October 1993, before working in France in export, product management, and customer service roles.

An energizing presence and warm spirit

Between 2003 and 2007 Gaspar lead Halton’s business efforts in Malaysia. Upon returning to Europe, he spearheaded Halton’s Foodservice business in Europe and, from 2008, he led the Halton Foodservice business globally.

“His ability to leverage strengths across our worldwide operations, his dedication and commitment to the vision which he strongly believed in will continue to be implemented throughout our new strategy,” says the company statement.

“Georges will be remembered as a warm, enthusiastic and energetic person, who ensured people also had fun and enjoyed themselves at work. His energizing presence and warm spirit will be deeply missed. Our heartfelt condolences go out to Georges’ family and loved ones during this difficult time.”
