CESA Conference 2018: titanic topics in debate

The Titans of Industry session will see Klaus Goeldenbot of Nisbets, Steve Snower of Partstown and Alberto Zanata of Electrolux Professional discuss the impact of digitalisation

The Titans of Industry session at next week’s 2018 Catering Equipment Suppliers Association (CESA) Conference has, says CESA, created “an enormous amount of pre-event buzz”.

The session name is based on FCSI’s Foodservice Consultant magazine’s long-running series of interviews with manufacturing CEOs, including Zanata. The three participants – Klaus Goeldenbot, group CEO of Nisbets, Steve Snower, CEO of Partstown and Alberto Zanata (pictured), CEO of Electrolux Professional – represent a cross section of the supply chain, being leaders in the distributor, spare parts supplier and the equipment manufacturer networks respectively.

Digitalisation and disruption

The main focus of their discussion will be the impact of digitalisation. For example, Klaus Goeldenbot will consider digitalisation and the value of the human touch. He’ll also look at the importance of simplicity and speed for success in the supply chain.

The theme for this year’s conference is ‘Evolving in a Disruptive Environment.’ “Digitalisation is having a huge impact on our industry,” says Keith Warren, director of CESA. “According to one recent study, it will drive more disruption in the next five years than industry has experienced in the last twenty. Our Titans will look at how it has changed things, and what will happen in the future, from the impact of connectivity on design and service to the effect of the latest technology on the delivery of products.”
