CAD/Revit Coordinator – Porter Khouw

We specialize in comprehensive master plans, market research studies, meal plan analyses, feasibility studies, strategic planning, foodservice space design and marketing plans. We are presently seeking a full-time Revit / CAD technician for our Maryland office. Specific responsibilities Include but are not limited to the following:

Position Overview

Seeking CAD/REVIT coordinator with knowledge and experience to work in PKC’s Design Department. Position requires experience with Revit and AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

  • Assist/support and work closely with Design team to provide administrative and technical support and ensure project deliverables and schedules are met.
  • Computer and printer/plotter competencies, using 2013 or later versions of Revit, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite (office, excel and word), and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Create, edit, store and print CAD and Revit plan drawings, utility connection drawings as well as elevation and section design detailing.
  • Coordinate drawing and information sharing between external disciplines external to the company by accessing FTP and related sites to upload/download information and loading backgrounds/models as required.
  • Read and interpret redlines.
  • Create and maintain Revit families
  • Add, delete, and modify family parameters.
  • Multitasking within the framework of various given projects and anticipated deadlines.
  • Communicate with other trades to resolve issues on the BIM model.
  • Organize time to efficiently meet project deadlines and deliverables.
  • Stay current on developments in modeling and drafting software. Serve as IT liaison to make
  • recommendations for software upgrades and implementation.
  • Continuously develop and maintain BIM/CAD standards.

Non-essential Job Functions

  • All work, documents, requests, etc. shall be generated in accordance and in compliance to PKC office standards, design procedures and templates or written procedure, including email instructions.
  • Tracking time spent on various projects on a daily basis.
  • Attend weekly internal design meetings and provide input including clear input on project
  • deliverables.
  • Display good communication skills both inside and outside of the office.

Requirements

  • Formal Autodesk training from technical school, community college, training program or similar.
  • Autodesk certification in at least one software or ADDA certification preferred.
  • Recent work experience with, a minimum of 2 years in Design/CAD, either with a commercial
  • construction firm, A/E firm and/or within the food service industry.
  • Ability to read floor plans, cut sheets, elevations, and detail sheets.
  • Position requires great organizational skills and self-motivator who can finish projects without direct supervision.
