Imperial Brown Names Director of Food Service

Stacey Sewell will plan strategy for walk-in sales that relate to the foodservice industry

Imperial Brown, one of the leading manufacturers of walk-in coolers and freezers in the world, has promoted a regional sales manager with 24 years of experience in the walk-in manufacturing industry to its newly created position of director of foodservice sales.

Stacey Sewell, based in San Diego, California, will plan strategy for Imperial Brown’s walk-in sales that relate to the food service industry, such as restaurants, schools, hospitals and others. The market currently represents the majority of the volume of orders for the company.

In making the announcement, Justin Sandall, president of Imperial Brown, said that the new position, combined with Sewell’s experience, will strengthen the company in the marketplace.

Imperial Brown, based in Portland, Oregon, also has manufacturing facilities in Salisbury, North Carolina, and Prague, Oklahoma, making the company and its products easily accessible across the US.

Industry experience

Sewell said that she is tremendously excited about the company’s new direction. As a regional sales manager for the past seven years, she has supervised sales in 10 states, managing three rep groups and a district manager. She has been employed in the industry for 24 years in positions ranging from inside sales, territory and national account management and regional management.

In her new position, she will supervise all outside sales and reps’ efforts in the Food Service Division and report to the vice president of sales and marketing.

Imperial Manufacturing was started in Portland in 1970 by Al Zell to serve the commercial refrigeration industry by manufacturing the insulated panels used to build walk-in coolers and freezers. In 2012, Imperial Manufacturing acquired W.A. Brown & Son of Salisbury, NC, a 100-year-old company, to form Imperial Brown. This year, the company acquired Artic Temp of Prague, OK.

Imperial Brown continually refines products, using the most up-to-date materials and engineering expertise to provide world-class products that withstand the most extreme temperature and weather conditions.

The company is a leader in temperature management facilities for food service, biotechnology, medical, supermarket and building construction industries. It manufactures walk-in coolers and freezers for restaurants and commercial kitchens, cold storage components for fish processing plants, ice makers for dam construction, wide range testing chambers, pharmaceutical development and manufacturing; high humidity and dry chambers, robotic enclosures, and archival storage chambers for some of the most valuable and fragile documents in human history.
