MAFSI NAMES FIRST FEMALE TREASURER IN ASSOCATION’S 66-YEAR HISTORY

Melissa Greenwald of Zink Foodservice Group to officially take position during NAFEM 2017

The Manufacturers’ Agents Association for the Foodservice Industry (MAFSI), the leading voice for US independent manufacturers’ sales representatives and manufacturing sales and marketing professionals in the commercial foodservice industry, has elected their first female treasurer to the association’s executive committee. Melissa Greenwald of Zink Foodservice Group will join the five-member executive committee, comprised of the treasurer, vice president, president, immediate past president, and chairman. As treasurer, she will eventually ascend to the presidency of MAFSI for a two-year term. When she does, she will also be the association’s first female president, ever.

Currently a national director on MAFSI’s 19-person board of directors, and representing MAFSI Region 7 – Mid America, Greenwald brings more than a decade of experience in foodservice equipment and supply sales, with specializations in smallwares, tabletop, and light equipment products.

As a regional vice president for the Tabletop & Smallwares division of Zink Foodservice Group, she is responsible for sales and marketing to the distribution network in Central Ohio and services all market segments including national restaurant chains, hospitality, healthcare, education, independent restaurants, and other foodservice operations.

“We’re absolutely thrilled to have Melissa as our first female treasurer,” said MAFSI executive director, Alison Cody.

“She is a true leader in every sense of the word, constantly challenging the Board, and our members, to be the very best they can be. We’re so proud of her many accomplishments, and simply couldn’t be happier to have her in this role.”

In 2011, Greenwald was elected to serve on MAFSI’s board of directors, and began volunteering as the marketing and communications committee chair in 2012. As chair, she is responsible for the organisation’s branding and communication efforts, including the publication of MAFSI Matters; the Association’s monthly email newsletter. In January 2016, she was awarded the Association’s Special Achievement Award at MAFSI’s Biennial Business Development Conference, Sales Management Forum, and Repnology in Phoenix, Arizona.

“Being MAFSI’s first female treasurer is a truly distinct honor, and I’m humbled to help guide and direct the initiatives of this great association.” said Greenwald.

“As a member of the executive committee, I will lead with the principles and tenants that I promote daily in our business – most importantly to always do the right thing. The future is bright for MAFSI and its members and I look forward to developing that even further in the coming years.”

Greenwald will officially begin her tenure as treasurer during the North American Association of Food Equipment Manufacturers (NAFEM) Show in 2017 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida.
