Winners of the INTERNORGA Future Award winners 2017 announced

INTERNORGA Future Award 2017 honours sustainable developments and new standards

The INTERNORGA Future Award was presented at the festive opening gala at the Hamburg Chamber of Crafts on Thursday 16 March 2017. Prizes were presented in four categories: Trendsetter Product Food & Beverages, Trendsetter Product Fittings & Equipment, Trendsetter Company HORECA, and Trendsetter Company Artisan.

The 2017 prize winners were selected by an independent panel of expert judges from the scientific and business communities, out of a total of more than 100 applications. The winners stand out with attributes such as high efficiency and responsible use of natural resources, exemplary sustainability concepts and strategies, and practice-relevant innovations in working and processing methods. Their products and services are the result of commitment, courage and innovation, setting new standards for a sustainable future. The following companies were selected by the judges for this year’s awards:

  • Emils Bio-Manufaktur:100% free of E-numbers (Product Food & Beverages)
  • Hermannsdorfer Landwerkstätten Glonn GmbH & Co. KG (Company Artisan)
  • Hotel Muchele (Company HORECA)
  • Miele & Cie. KG, Professional Division: The Benchmark Machines (Product Fittings & Equipment)

This prestigious award has been presented since 2011, honouring companies for sustainable products and services. The INTERNORGA Future Award is one of the best known prizes in the hospitality industry. “The tremendous range of applications submitted shows just how varied sustainability can be – we were delighted to view and select amazing concepts and exciting products again,” said Bernd Aufderheide, president and CEO Hamburg Messe und Congress GmbH.

“Sustainability is essential for our society, but it calls for tremendous commitment, courage and not least innovative strength on the part of companies. The purpose of the INTERNORGA Future Award is to express our recognition of the companies and their efforts,” he said.

Miele & Cie. KG’s “Benchmark Machines” set new standards in the professional sector, for in the load category 10-20 kg. The Performance and Performance-Plus series feature outstanding functionality and ergonomics, efficiency in energy, water and material consumption, low maintenance, and long life. They include innovative new developments such as the honeycomb drum design for gentle care of fabrics, the new tub assembly geometry and maintenance-free drum bearings. The new series gives improved ergonomics and optimised water intake, for water savings compared with the previous generation. Miele sets standards not only with its products, but also with its features for the environment and sustainability. Miele was honoured with the German Sustainability Award for its sustainability management and high recycling rate, and its social responsibility as a company with great vertical range of manufacture.
