A global offering at Sirha Budapest

Sirha Budapest is an ambitious new show that will appeal to food, hospitality, gastronomy, bakery and confectionery industries, says event organiser Marie-Odile Fondeur of GL events

Sirha, the worldwide events for the foodservice and hotel sectors, continues its international development with the first edition of Sirha Budapest. The Hungarian Horeca (Hotel, Restaurant and Cafe) and retail show will take place from Monday 9th to Wednesday 11th May 2016 at Hungexpo, in Hungary.

This new event will bring together key players in the Horeca and retail industry in Hungary and Eastern Europe. More than 20,000 high-profile professionals along with 300 exhibitors from across all areas of the hospitality sector are expected to discover an exhaustive and innovative offering designed to answer all retail, bakeries and pastries, hotel and restaurant’s needs.

Sirha Budapest is the only trade show in Hungary proposing a global offering to foodservice and hospitality professionals, including food products, beverages, kitchen equipment and appliances, products and equipment for bakery-pastry, coffee products and equipment, furniture, tableware, decoration, textile, products and equipment for the hotel industry, services, new technologies, hygiene, products and equipment for the agro-food industry and products and equipment for packaging and logistics; all of them for small or large scale units.

Attendees at the show will be able to meet importers, distributors and manufacturers to exchange and discover their novelties.

The show’s events calendar include:

  • The European selection for Bocuse d’Or! This prestigious worldwide competition will reveal the best chefs of the continent. Only 11 countries will take part in the Grand Finale, from 24 to 25 January, during Sirha Lyon 2017
  • The World Cuisine Summit, which will present food trends and focus on innovation in the restaurant industry. Experts, including executives from restaurant chains, will debate the practical consequences of these trends and discuss the management of restaurants in Hungary
  • The Dessert Competition will also take place during Sirha Budapest
  • The Hungarian Barista Championship, Creative Bakery Forum and several conferences about food supply, catering, the street food economy and gastro & tourism.
