Internorga turns 90

Exhibitors heading to Internorga, Hamburg’s annual foodservice trade fair, can look forward to a packed programme as the event opens its doors for the 90th time

This year the Internorga programme includes the search for the most talented chef in the cookery contest Next Chef Award while delegates will vote for the best restaurant concept in the Gastro Startup competition. The event will also see the return of the Craft Beer Arena and the Food Truck Village, both popular after their introduction in 2015.

“The success recipe of Internorga is that it keeps on reinventing itself, developing together with the industries it represents,” says Claudia Johannsen, business unit director at Hamburg Messe und Congress GmbH. “On top of the exhibitor presentations at Internorga, we have always featured the emerging market trends. And our exhibitors have naturally also played a huge part in the positive development of the fair – each year they present their product innovations here to the trade audience for the first time.”

Internorga is the leading European trade fair for hotels, restaurants, institutional catering, bakery and confectionery. It has gone from being a regional hotel and hospitality fair with just 180 exhibitors in 1921 to one of the leading trade fairs in the world. Now taking up 100,000sqm, it attracts around 1,300 exhibitors from all segments of the foodservice sector. Over the years it has been the launchpad for a number of innovations, among them microwave ovens and hybrid coffee machines.

Internorga will take place 11-16 March, 2016. For more information visit www.internorga.com
