Hotelex Shanghai

Why attend: Shanghai International Hotel Equipment and Supply Expo (Hotelex Shanghai) is a worldwide professional trade show in the hospitality and catering industry. There are 2,082 domestic and international exhibitors from 130 countries, occupying 2.16 million sq ft exhibition space. This year, World Coffee Events will bring in the World Latte Art; World Cup Taster; World Coffee Roasting; and World Coffee in Good Spirits Championships, with competitors from over 60 countries.

“For consultants doing business in China, this is the event to understand the latest happenings in the international and local food scenes,” says Pi.

Clarke adds: “Hotelex Shanghai is for the rapidly expanding Chinese market. To meet this demand, Hotelex is also expanding to other cities such as Chengdu (August) and Guangzhou (December).”

What FCSI members can expect: FCSI Asia Pacific Division (APD) exhibits a booth with the green theme The 21st Century Kitchen, featuring sustainable equipment and food production, technology demos, and educational seminars showcasing FCSI’s brand and consultant members’ expertise. Since 2014, FCSI APD has worked with the organiser to produce half-day education seminars presented by FCSI consultant members. To celebrate Hotelex Shanghai’s 25th anniversary this year, FCSI APD is planning a whole day education session focusing on the “central food production theme”: technology, applications, food safety controls, plus a feature on past FCSI allied winners in sustainable foodservice and production equipment.
