NOMINATION PROGRAM
SCOPE: To state the purpose for which the Fellows honor is bestowed and the procedure for selection of Fellows Chairperson, and the procedure to be followed in the processing of Nominees.
The Fellows Honor is the highest honor that FCSI can bestow. This honor is only bestowed by FCSI Worldwide and not by a Division or other subsidiary organization. The selection of a person deserving such an honor is based on contribution to FCSI, the Foodservice Industry, Education and the Community. Headquarters will maintain a confidential file containing the names of all Nominees. The screening process will be completed by Headquarters and forwarded to the Credential Review Committee for the selection process.
Nominations may be made at any time. However there will be a closed period for vetting new nominations of three months immediately prior to a Worldwide Conference program.
The presentation to the approved recipient at a FCSI Worldwide event will be presided over by the President of FCSI or his/her designee with the honor bestowed (the medallion presented) by the Chair of the Council of Fellows or his/her designee.
SELECTION OF COUNCIL OF FELLOWS CHAIRPERSON AND CREDENTIAL REVIEW COMMITTEE
The Council of Fellows shall be composed of all Fellows who have retained their Professional or Emeritus membership standing in the Society.
Every other year, the Council of Fellows, by majority vote, shall elect a Chairperson Elect who shall assume the duties of the Coordinator of the Credential Review Committee for two years. At the end of the two years, the Coordinator will become Chairperson of the Council of Fellows for two years.
The Chairperson of the Council of Fellows shall select three Fellows who, along with the Coordinator, shall comprise the Credential Review Committee. Council of Fellows Chairperson will be an Ex-Officio Member and votes in cases of ties.
The Credential Review Committee shall be charged with the task of evaluating recommendations for fellowship, as outlined in the Procedures for Election as a Fellow of FCSI. Members of this committee shall serve for a term of two (2) years.
No member of the Credential Review Committee shall be an Officer or Board member of FCSI Worldwide.
FCSI Board shall provide a reasonable operating budget to cover expenses of the Fellows' activities. Budget shall be controlled and payments approved by Chairperson.
