December 2011 A Note from the Chair: Holiday greetings to all FCSI members!! I hope everyone enjoyed their Christmas break and found time to relax and enjoy with family and friends. Here it is the end of 2011. WOW! The year passed quickly. I still remember writing the note taking us into 2011. I think the older we get the faster time flies by. This year has been a very good one for FCSI – The America’s. We have made substantial headway with the passing of our bylaws and a successful strategic planning session which sets the tone for things to come. We had three great regional events that were enjoyed by many. I know personally the San Diego Super Regional Event left me inspired to be a little more aggressive with Social Media realizing that it is good for business. Who would have thought that a couple of years back? We had a great NAFEM Show in Orlando and have enjoyed the continuing support of our Allied member firms. We appreciate it guys and gals because you enable us to do what we need to do for our members and clients! Several successful Education Provider Programs were scheduled in 2011 and I know our members appreciate the learning environment and face time with you. As we enter into 2012 we can do so knowing that we have a solid financial foundation and a good plan for moving us up to the next rung of the ladder. Your FCSI – The America’s Division will continue to evolve and offer even greater benefits to all members over time! We are planning to dedicate more financial resources in 2012 than ever before to expand our brand awareness and reach out to our prospective clients. I would like to thank all of our volunteers for without you nothing substantial would ever get done. Whether you sit on the Board of Trustees or serve on our Membership Committee, CPS, Chapter board, or other committees or task forces you should be proud of what we have accomplished this year! If you haven’t been involved in a formal manner but offered advice or assistance I want you to know how much your input and concern is appreciated. I think we can all be pretty proud of the work we have done and where we are going! I encourage our newer or less involved members to get involved in some way, shape, or form this next year. We need your minds and your bodies to keep us moving forward with positive momentum! Hopefully we will see an improved economy as we move through 2012. Many members still suffer downtrends in business and challenging times. Perhaps once things settle down in the race to the presidency we will see a marked improvement in consumer confidence that will spark some real growth opportunities! That being said I want to wish you all a joyous and prosperous New Year! ![]() Ed Norman, FCSI ![]() ![]() 2012 Conference Registration Open Make plans to join us in Kansas City April 19-21, 2012 for our biennial FCSI The Americas Conference.
